Cody Powell joined his family's company, Powell Realty, in 2009 after earning a business degree from the University of North Florida. He and Janice Powell run it today from our office at 208 Lake Parsons Green in Brandon.
Powell Realty manages more than 500 properties across Tampa Bay, from rental homes to Condo, HOA and CDD communities. Cody holds the two state licenses that work takes: Florida real estate broker and Licensed Community Association Manager.

Planning and land use decide how neighborhoods grow, and what changes around them. Cody spent years on that side of the table, so he knows how a county decision reaches a community, and who to call when it does.

Land Use Appeals BoardCody started his public service on the Hillsborough County Land Use Appeals Board.
- Four-year term
Hillsborough County City-County Planning CommissionAppointed by the Board of County Commissioners. He served as vice chair, and as the commission's representative on the Hillsborough TPO, the affordable housing board, the Community Land Trust and the Hillsborough River Interlocal Technical Advisory Council.

Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway AuthorityAppointed by the Governor to the THEA board, the agency that runs the Selmon Expressway. The Florida Senate confirmed the appointment in 2026.
Outside the office, Cody has volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem, speaking up in court for children who have been abused or neglected. As a company, Powell Realty supports The Spring, a Tampa domestic violence shelter, and the American Cancer Society.
